Thanks for Visiting Our Wish List!

February 2008: We have an on-going matching challenge: if we can raise $10,000 from other contributors, a local donor is ready to write a check for $10,000. With $20,000 in hand, we'll be in a position to fulfill all our important development and program needs this Spring (see below for details).

Levantine Cultural Center is a nonprofit grassroots cultural arts center that represents a very diverse population of more than one million people in Southern California with ties to the Middle East and North Africa. Your contributions enable us to serve our mission successfully.

Our wish list is not extravagant and only includes the most necessary items for development in order to serve the widest possible constituency. Need to know more? Write us at info@levantinecenter.org.

$4,000 for Essential Nonprofit Database—Exceed! Premier is a complete fundraising and information management software solution developed exclusively for nonprofit organizations. In order to manage our members, donors, volunteers and other stakeholders, we're looking to own a licensed copy of this highly-recommended program from Telosa (the comparable Raiser's Edge from Blackbaud, used by larger nonprofits runs as high as $30,000!).

Professional-quality Digital Audio Recorder for Podcasting With this Zoom digital recorder, mics and accessories we'll be recording interviews and live events, including concerts, and doing our own Podcasting! $500 out the door will make it happen...

$5,000 to Revamp Our Web Site

This web site is the most effective tool to reach our intended audience. We have prepared a plan for the successful revamping of the site which will significantly expand our target audience while at the same time making us more self-sufficient. The cost for a web-based data management software system and new design is approximately $5,000. Here is a samples of the new direction.

$3,000 for a Sony PD170 - camcorder - professional - Mini DV

Since 2001, Levantine Cultural Center has produced over 300 cultural arts programs, but sadly, very few have been recorded to create an audio-visual record. It's time that we began recording and archiving these programs with an inexpensive but professional-quality camcorder. The Sony PD 170 has an excellent consumer rating and with all the accessories is just under $3,000 out the door. For those who are not always able to attend our many public programs, watching edited videos online is the next best thing!

Professional-Quality CDJ players and a mixer will allow our guest deejays to mix for live events and prepare their play lists for exclusive Levantine podcasts. $1,500.
